Scouters can start Wood Badge II training as soon as they complete Wood Badge I online training.  A Scouter will ask a Wood badge II Support Scouter to act as a coach and mentor to help them complete the Scouter Development Skills.

One key to success is selecting a strong Support Scouter who can coach and mentor a Scouter through their Wood Badge II journey.

Support Scouters need to be able to facilitate delivering the five pillars of Volunteer Support with the fours stages of Scouter Development.  This means that the Support Scouter needs to be able to determine which is the best method to best support the learner.  The Support Scouter does need the knowledge and skills for every Scouter Skill, rather they need to be able to facilitate and organize the method for the Scouter to best learn and practice those skills.

The Support Scouter must be able to work as a coach and a mentor depending on the situation.
